Duqm Frontier Town

Phase I
Overview

The Government of Oman is developing the coastal area of Duqm into a fully integrated export center, complete with supporting urban facilities for balanced national developments. To achieve this, a Master Plan for the proposed city has commenced on its implementation.

An initial component of the overall plan is the development of Duqm Frontier Town. Duqm Frontier Town has been identified as a residential community to be supported by appropriate facilities to serve the local population.

Duqm Frontier Town is located in wilayat A’Duqm on the eastern coastline of Oman, some 550 kilometer by road south of Muscat and a similar distance by road north of Salalah. The size of land is about 52 hectares and it will be developed in phases.

Phase I Overview :
  • Project Name: Duqm Frontier Town - Phase I
  • Location: Duqm, Sultanate of Oman
  • Land Size: 23.43 ha (234,300?)
  • Total Project Cost : 36.7 Million RO
  • Completion Date: May 2013
  • Construction work of Phase I development of Duqm Frontier Town has begun in December 2010. All the units are leased out.
  • Construction Progress: Project is Completed and people are living since May 2013.
Phase II Overview

Phase II is planned to be developed adjacent to Phase I on a land size of 29.20 ha. This development will create new luxury living space, family-oriented community and commercial opportunities including a Shopping Mall, an international school and a hospital. Feasibility study and a Master plan are being undertaken. In April 2015, DDC has appointed AECOM to develop Master Plan and Detail Design of Phase II.

Facility Management

DDC is handling the operation & maintenance activities at Duqm Frontier Town – Phase I.
DDC has recently awarded a contract for the construction of Operation and Maintenance building designed to provide quality and timely services to the residents of DFT.
